The movie Rushmore is about a fifteen year old kid named Max who gets kicked out of his school for being over ambitious and getting very bad grades. During the film Max does a load of things that normal people just wouldn't do. For example he tries to make an aquarium at his school, is head of the backgammon club, and tries to have an intimate relationship with a teacher at his school.
I think it would be pretty cool to know a kid like Max. Everyday you were with him would be exciting and there would be new adventures all the time. He may be considered somewhat of an outcast at his school, but that wouldn't bug me too much because I wouldn't care what people thought if I was having that much fun.
Wouldn't you want to know a kid like Max?
I think he'd be an awesome guy to chill with at the right times. He would be really entertaining but I feel like he wouldn't be able to take a hint once he got to be a bit much.

I think that while it would be pretty cool to "know" Max, you couldn't really be friends with him. He doesn't have close enough social and emotional ties to really be friends with anyone- the closest you could get would be his lackey, In my opinion.
So yeah, while it would be cool to know him, it would be more like a "hey, there's that eccentric kid Max. Wonder what he's up to now" kinda situation, instead of an actual friendship.

I agree that it would be hard to be friends with someone like Max but it would be cool to have a kid like that at our school. We could use some more interesting clubs. I mean, there's no chance I would join something like OPRF Beekeepers, but I've always wanted to be able to fence.
