Deborah Tannen's article is about women being marked as certain things by what they wear. Then Tannen talks about how men are not marked as much as women.
I beleieve all of this to be true, but I feel as if there are many other ways women can be marked, besides the way they dress. Fore example I feel that women can be marked for being a feminist. Some may say a feminist hates men. I personally consider myself a feminist, but I certainly do not hate men. I believe when people put a label on a process of thought it can contaminate who a person truely is. Which is why that can be considered being marked.
While I agree with Tannen's article, I believe she was not broad enough.
