Everyday we either check boxes in which we categorize our self’s to what race we belong or where we live. Does it really matter? It seems that identity no longer weighs into how we view ourselves. We either get stereotyped or discriminated against based on what color we are or where we come from. Culture, Religion, Technology, Gender and Class are categories into which we put ourselves and others into daily. These criterion are synthetic ideas that we come up with to create identity. I think by removing these titles that we link to our persona we can establish a true identity. If we merely speak of what material things make us, we'll become people who are ignorant to what truly makes us unique, our ideas.
I saw an old chappelle episode the other day where there was a skit that involved different races drafting biracial celebrities to 100% fully become a part of their own race. This totally embodied how we judge people especially celebrities based on appearance. I thought that its interesting that Chappelle used the concept that a race would what to own a person completely even though the people genetically belong to another race.

It really is amazing how we, including myself, formulate superficial judgements about people based on their race even without thinking about it. I catch myself doing it literally every day and I honestly find it disgusting how the society we live in corrupts even our unconscious thoughts.

I agree with Nate. I feel like people base their opinions of other people too strongly on race. When people ask about someone else one of the first things they find out is sometimes the race. It seems very superficial and wrong to judge people so strongly on their race.
