Most of us know that there is many male stereotypes as there are female stereotypes in today’s world, but are the male stereotypes as bad as the female stereotypes? The male stereotype is to be a brave, strong, and a unrelenting individual. Those are good qualities to have as a person, but at times a male protagonist shows to have little to no passion of peace or love, and tends to put himself in a hostile situation simply because he likes it.
Take male characters in video games for example, we see that the male protagonist has a hostile personality in many first person shooters. Such first person shooter games like Duke Nukem, Gears of War, Doom, and GTA have protagonists that hold the stereotype that was mentioned earlier. Many action movies exhibit characters that are strong, relentless, and always hostile. Chuck Norris’s has always played the role of the hostile protagonist who has “balls of steel.” Arnold Schwarzenegger in Terminator 2 and 3 plays the role of the impassive protector who is physically unstoppable.
I think that all men should dive themselves to be strong mentally and physically, but in no way does that mean they have to be cold and hostile individuals.
Very interesting point of view. You had a lot of really good examples to push ur view better and i definatley agree with you. Most people consider of men stereotypes as better than womans. I think that they are near equality. Good Job!

I agree the biggest stereotype is male superiority. Its giving us men a bad look and it needs to stop

Johnathan I totally agree, I also think men don't have to be cold indiviuals to be tough in today's society. I feel bad that society has formed these stereotypes for men that makes some men feel like they have to be cold and "hard" in order to be tough and brave

Society is stuck in this phase right now. Times do change, but it can be hard to see the end.

Why do men seem to have no personality on tv, just big muscles and the ability to fight. Its gona be a long time before things start changing.

I don’t think that it’s a matter of time. It’s more of a matter of understanding that the genders are alike mentally. That’s when our media will really start to break gender stereotypes.

good post, I totally agree with your view on male stereotypes. The male stereotypes seem to look much better than the female ones.

I think that the stereotype was not neccesarly made up, but something men want to be. I'm not fighting the fact that the stereo type is bad but that is was made by another man.

Our cultures should stand for some timeless things - excellent customer service or empowering employees - but should be willing and able to change the parts of the culture that are not core to the differentiators of the business.
Culture can be both an inhibitor to growth and an enabler to growth. Only when culture changes and grows as the business evolves does it really reinforce your business.

Is there a popular, positive stereotype for white men?
Males of all races have stereotypes, some being positive and some being negative. For example, black males are often stereotyped as being criminals, but on the flip side have the luxury of being stereotyped as athletic and "well endowed". Asian men are stereotyped as being the most intelligent. However, honestly, can you think of a positive stereotype for white men? It seems most of the popular stereotypes of white men are negative, such as being greedy.
