I don't know about the rest of you, but I think that Estha and Rahel's connection to each other is a little strange...in a large part of Chapter 1 we are told of how they "share" memories as if they were always present at the same events even if they weren't. I also think that it is weird that they can "feel" each other now that they are both back in Ayemmemen.
My question is...is there connection simply a twin telepathy thing or is there a deeper meaning? Why are they connected? What is the author's purpose when emphasizing their connection? Personally, I believe that while there is some twin telepathy going on, I think that their connection definitely goes way deeper than simply feeling each other's presence or knowing the other's experience.
At this point I do not think we have been given enough information as to properly deduce the meaning of their connection. I think that the author is foreshadowing a story that will soon be told, but I am not really all that sure..I just think that they have a curious connection and it makes me sort of wish I had a twin...
I think this telepathic twin connection is going to play an important role in the story that is being revealed to us too. In the beginning the two were obviously always connected, but something happened to somewhat break this connection. I'm eager to see what happened to the all encompassing "me" that used to exist.

After Beloved and all of Morrisons ghost related mumbo jumbo, I am quite inured to such baseline normal things like twin telepathy. At best, it gets a raised eyebrow before I trudge on with the novel. Forward!
