Music is constantly changing. At least from the beginning of the 1900s to present day it has been changing from thousands of influences and creators. With that being said, old music to the youth is becoming less and less attractive and is essentially dying out. The popular music genre has recently been defined by the youth, and therefore they are not paying as much attention to the classics. Entire Genres ranging from classical to Rock are being thwarted by modern pop music. I personally like my music to be constantly renewed and fresh. So I don't get too sick of a certain song from being played too much, yet to an older person, who is interested in music from his younger life, this pleasure is impossible. Nearly all of the musical producers are young and the older ones simply are either dead or aren't producing music anymore. So, the elderly have no choice but to either listen to the same music, or succumb to the confines of the youth.
Oh my. This is very sad... and very true. It is lucky that music is abundant. It seems we need another mozart to be born. A savant. Someone with modern ideas, but equal caliber. And you know... I'm sure we'll get him/her.
