English class this year more than any other year has showed me how beautiful literature can be. I know that people say that all the time, and it's usually just a way to take up space in a paper or perhaps a blogpost? But I honestly mean it. And really, it's not only literature. It's poetry, and in my case, especially music and lyrics. I think that literature and the written word in general is a way of chronicling your perception of the world, and your take on what's going on around you, and this year has taught me more than anything else that that perception and that view that YOU have, is important. Perhaps it's the books that we read, or maybe it's my own growth over the course of these ten months, but the individual in society is worth so much more to me now. And I think that's what I will take to college with me. The fact that, though I might not be the best at everything, I do offer a unique perspective on the world, and that can be used for something great. Whether it be a novel, or a poem, or a song, it's all valid, and it's all good.
